Users Meeting 2024

Join us to share your experience and learn more from others!

The Geospatial Computing Platform is ITC’s state-of-the-art cloud-based interactive computing platform provided to its staff, students, alumni, and partner organisations. Developed and operated by The Center of Expertise on Big Geodata Science (CRIB), it is available since January 2021 and currently serves more than 500 users for a wide range of use cases, such as research projects, thesis studies, course practicals, and even personal projects.

After more than 3 years of operation, we are curious how the platform has performed and how it can be further improved. We would like to hear about your user stories and ideas! How did you utilize the platform? Was it useful? Was it sufficient? What were the difficulties you encountered? How did you manage to overcome these difficulties? What else do you need - more computing resources, additional software and services?

The Users Meeting will be an open forum to share experiences, exchange ideas, and voice needs. The platform was created based on a comprehensive user needs assessment. However, we do recognize the dynamic nature of the needs and the importance of participatory co-development process. Thus we invite you all to join together to build better and benefit from the platform.

The first Users Meeting will be a half-day hybrid event at ITC on TBD.

We will provide a short summary on the current status of the platform, new features that will be available soon, and future plans.

Afterwards the stage will be yours to showcase the work you performed on the platform. Simple or advanced, all use cases are valuable and will be useful to others - so please don't hesitate to contribute.

You can use slides or simply display your interactive notebooks by using the platform. Each presentation should be max. 10 minutes. If the number of submission will be more than the capacity of the meeting, a selection will be made based on type of the use case.

Online participation through video conference or pre-recorded presentations are also welcome. Please join as well if you don't want to present, but just want to hear what others did.

We will have a lunch at the end!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email i.mydur@student.utwente.nl.
