Important information

The goal of the Satellite and Sensor database is to give fast access to general information about Earth Observation satellites and sensors. For detailed information or data, refer to the provided links to other web pages.

Starting with the data that is most used within ITC, we have been filling up the database. This is an ongoing process; new satellites and sensors will be added continuously. Links will be checked and updated. The information is collected from various (online) sources. Sometimes information may not be available, if you have any information that can help us to improve the database, please contact us.

Although we try to prevent mistakes in the database as much as possible, there may be errors in the presented information. That is why using the information is for your own responsibility!

Please mail comments or questions to: sensordatabase-itc@utwente.nl or petra.budde@utwente.nl

Tip: another good source to search for satellites, instruments and requirements of application areas, although mostly focussed on weather, water and climate, is the Observing Systems Capability Analysis and Review Tool (OSCAR) by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
