Public workshop: Downscaling climate data for biodiversity modelling on the Antarctic continent Prof Noel Cressie

On 30 July, Prof Noel Cressie is coming to visit ITC. Prof. Cressie is distinguished Professor of Statistics in the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, at the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia and Director of the Centre for Environmental Informatics (CEI) in the National Institute for Applied Statistics Research Australia (NIASRA).

His visit will consist of an event where we start with introductions on spatial statistics at ITC, and key contributions of Noel Cressie to spatial statistics. This is followed by a presentation from his side. In the afternoon, presentations from PhD candidates and senior researchers are organized, highlighting spatial statistical aspects of their research (±10 minutes), followed by a discussion with Noel and others.
