How to apply for a non-accredited short course

Academic level and background
Applicants for this certificate course should have completed their secondary education in a discipline related to the course specialisation and have at least three years of relevant practical experience.
Documentation
The faculty accepts transcripts, degrees and diplomas in the following languages: Dutch, English, and German. It is at the discretion of the faculty to require additional English translations of all documents in other languages as well.
English language
As all courses are given in English, proficiency in the English language is a prerequisite.
If you are a national of one of the countries in this list (PDF), you are exempted from an English language test.
Please note: the requirements when applying for fellowships may vary according to the regulations of the fellowship provider.

Computer skills
If you lack computer experience we strongly advise you to follow basic courses in your home country.
Check the application deadlines The application deadlines for short courses can be found on the course page. Go to the Study finder and select the course you want to study. Scroll to "Key information" where you will find the deadlines for the course.
Collect your application documents To start your online application procedure, you need to submit several documents digitally. If any certified photocopies are required from you the University of Twente will notify you of this and tell you where to send them.
- A bachelor’s degree certificate or an equivalent qualification certificate (if available)
- An official transcript of records or preliminary transcript of records in Dutch or English
- A certified official translation of your bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript of records if not in Dutch or English
- Official English test score results (IELTS or TOEFL IBt or Cambridge) (if applicable)
- An additional Higher Degree certificate and transcript and official translation (if applicable)
- A valid international passport
- Curriculum vitae (CV)

Start the application procedure in Osiris Do you meet the admission requirements? Then you can start your application in our online application portal called Osiris.
- Select a course in the Study Finder
- Open the course description by clicking on the course title
- Use the "Go to registration" button
This will take you to the online application portal called Osiris.
Once you have logged into Osiris, you can upload the requested documents (our application systems indicate which documents you need to upload). Do not forget to submit your application after completing it. After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email with the confirmation.
Await the admission decision The admission procedure contains two parts. The admission office will do the first check. When this check is complete, one of the university’s Educational Admission Committees will evaluate it. You will be informed via email when we need additional information or when the decision is made. In the decision letter, there will be more information about the following steps to take.
Eligible
You have received an email with an admission notice for your application. We will inform you of practical matters that need to be arranged before your arrival in Enschede. Think about paying your tuition fees, arranging a visa, and accommodation.
Conditionally eligible
If you have been granted conditional admission, you do not yet fully meet all the requirements. The correspondence you will receive will tell you what further actions you need to take to be definitively admitted.
Declined
In some cases, you do not meet the admission requirements. Your application will be rejected. This result is explained in the letter that is sent to you by email.
Postponement
If you wish to postpone your participation in or withdraw from a course, you must notify the Student Registration Office as soon as possible and no later than:
- One month before the start date.
In such cases, the fees paid can be refunded or credited for attendance later by you or a different person. If you withdraw later, part of the course fee will be charged under the general conditions for ITC courses.
