On 24 March 2014, Prof. Tom Veldkamp, the Dean of Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente and Prof. Huili Gong, the President of Capital Normal University, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreement at Capital Normal University (CNU).
The two partners agreed to focus on an MSc Double Degree Programme in Water Resources and Environmental Management.
Cooperation between ITC and CNU began in 2005, in organizing the Advanced Training Course in Land Remote Sensing organized on behalf the ESA-NRSCC Dragon Programme that took place from 10 to 15 October 2005 in Capital Normal University; many staffs from the Department of Water Resources of ITC were invited to give lectures.
CNU is a comprehensive university, legally formed under Chinese law. CNU is a key university under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, and is a renowned institution of higher learning, emphasizing teacher education and basic learning in both arts and sciences.
