The Library of the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente donated educational textbooks to the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti in Nigeria.
The heads of departments received the textbooks from Polytechnic’s rector Mrs T.T. Akande during a ceremony held at the Polytechnic. Staff member Chris Odeyemi studying for an MSc at ITC initiated the contact between the ITC Library and his Polytechnic.
In her letter of appreciation to ITC rector Tom Veldkamp and librarian Marga Koelen, Mrs Akande states “the textbooks will be useful and contribute greatly to scholarly research as they are of immense benefit to the students’ course of study”.
The ITC library sets up partnerships with libraries of reputable qualified educational organizations in several countries with whom ITC has entered into partnerships for the purpose of providing joint courses. The partnership encompasses a book and journal donation programme.
