On the 24th of September, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand officially opened the building. The building is designed following the principles of organic architecture. This tendency in architecture uses variously shaped angles, warm colours and natural materials. By using a selection of colours in the central hall and stairway, the elements earth, water, air and fire are represented in the building. The central aspect of 'organic' architecture is the human being: people should feel at home in their working environment. Therefore special meeting places can be found within the building; the most remarkable one is the restaurant: a well visited place during coffee-, lunch and tea breaks.
