The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Faculty ITC (University of Twente) and the Federal University of Ceará has been signed on 17 September 2024. With signing the MoU, the collaboration between UT’s ITC Faculty and UFC in the areas of education, research and capacity development is outlined.
The signature of the MoU took place after some meetings to align common interests and a successful workshop concerning the use and visualisation of data regarding intra-urban inequalities in Fortaleza, where ITC staff Andre Mano, Mafalda Madureira and Flavia Carvalho de Souza visited UFC for a 5-day workshop.
The MoU emphasizes e.g. the importance of continuing education programmes, exchange of staff and students, research and capacity development. During the initial discussions in September 2023, Mario Fundaro, Deputy Head of Department at the School of Architecture and Urbanism – DAUD in the Federal University of Ceará, highlighted his interest in collaborating with ITC in the fields of urbanism and territorial planning, cultural built heritage, information modelling and design amongst others.
